I went on saturday as well and was extremely disappointed in 2006 they had a large plushy selection but i guess by the time i got there on saturday 2007 anything worth buying had already been sold. if it wasn't for the cosplay last year, or the amazing haruhi dance breakout in the dealers room i probably wouldn't be going for the 3rd time this year in 2008 worked really hard on this years outfit. if you see a girl in a pink kimono cosplaying as hazumu from kashimashi be sure to say hello.

I've yet to go to a con. :/

It does look like if you know what you're looking for/doing, going to cons can be a blast though. :3

I was there on Sat., too, but somehow managed to spend most of the morning watching the Haruhi English dubs... they've got nothing on the original version, but weren't half bad. I attended the Bandai Entertainment and Manga Ent. panels (the Manga guy, who was a riot, let slip some hints about Macross Zero getting licensed). Phat Loot included the Planetes DVD set and the My Hime special box (and the gigantic Haruhi poster that came "free" with more than $50 of Bandai stuff), some artbooks, and a couple of Lucky Star trading figures (released a year or two back, based on the manga, and not available online anymore as far as I can see. Damn, should have bought the whole box.) I ate lunch at Mentei, the noodle joint across the street from the Convention Center (great food), and then had sushi for dinner in the fancy-schmancy mall in the Prudential Center (craptacular... who would have thought, from a fine establishment like Sakkio Japan?). A fun day, but it's too bad our paths didn't cross.
