Sometimes I wonder what I’m reading this for. Actually, I do know why I’m reading this and I have to say, the manga does a pretty good job at what it does, as limited as that is. Its true, you can see what’s going to happen a mile away, and like the last volume, it has those moments where Akira is disappointed he’s not gonna see what he hopes he’ll see, and then “bang” it happens anyway, and he sees more than he’d ever hoped! So its all about titillation and fan service and whatnot. The romance aspect is as flat as the girls aren’t. I wish there had been some more interesting development in a story about a guy who turns into a girl whenever he sneezes. But its just used to get him into certain … situations. The plot could just be a bit more involved (like, there could actually be a plot!) but then that’s not what this is about, after all. I do feel sorry for poor Kikuchi, though!
The preview for the next volume shows that some interesting things could happen, like finding out what’s going on with the machine and all. It took a while for the previous Gacha Gacha series to get to that point too. In the meantime, there’s the, um, cake baking and other activities to enjoy.
