I’ve been getting caught up on Lucky Star, but marathoning a bunch of episodes of this show can leave one in bit of a daze. Segment follows segment really rapidly and you either get the joke or
often sometimes you don’t, but you’re left with the impression it must have been something hilarious or at least slightly amusing and, well, maybe you didn’t laugh out loud, but that must just be your fault that you just didn’t get it, it was probably an obscure cultural ref after all, but it’s
大丈夫, ’cause Konata’s so frickin’ cool and everything she says and does is so clever and awesome and if she were real you might
marry her, want to hang out with her online; anyway, the next segment’s already here and this one’s really funny (”I got that reference! Taiyaki! That’s Kanon and Ayu!
Hmm, but wasn’t that a bit too gratuitous?“) and that next one was great too (”Look at Konata in that swimsuit! But just what female stuff are those girl’s talking about?”), but we’re already on the next bit, so I can’t stop to savor the last one (”I’ll have to rewatch this soon!”) and, wow!, the eps are getting even better as they go along (”I can’t wait for those other girls from the opening to show up!”), and then Akira-chan appears (”That means it’s almost over–that one went by too fast!”), and any minute she’s gonna show that other personality (”But the genki one is sooo cute!”); and then its on to the next episode @_@
Marathoning a show like this is sure a lot different from something more plot oriented, but its a trip, I assure you. :) Now its time to catch up on something else, maybe Nanoha or that Shakespeare one…
Lucky Star started strong, and just keeps getting better. The part in ep. 7 (?) where Konata is pretending to be at an exclusive boarding school cracked me up. “Ara, Tsukasa-san, Kagami-san, gokigenyou.” Heh heh heh.
あら, ましゅさん, ごきげんよう.
