To start my second day at Anime Next 2007, I went to watch the AMVs. I had missed the first ten or so, and left my ballot behind, so I didn’t even vote. I wasn’t too impressed by the ones I saw, except this one, of course XD. I thought the audio/visual setup for the AMVs was not too great, though. The main events area was just one part of a large space that was subdivided by black curtains. So all the sounds from the main stage could be heard through the curtains everywhere, like in the dealers room and artists alley.
After the AMVs, I focused on taking some pictures of cosplayers and, before I left, I went to a panel on Anime and Anime Fandom in NYC. Three members of the Metro Anime club led the panel. They encouraged audience participation and covered such topics as where to meet other anime fans and where to watch/buy anime in NY. Online forums and blogging were mentioned right near the end, but the emphasis of the panelists was on physically meeting other fans.
Here are some cosplay pictures…..

I wonder if he went around barefoot all day?

There was a ninja in a tree!

Hinano and her doujinshi

I heard that Eureka is Greek for “This bath is too hot!”

This Ouran group attracted a lot of attention!

I’ll do one more post on Anime Next showing the stuff I got!
