Maybe not so new, since some of them are sequels, lol (: Anyway, here’s a Fall Preview of sorts, but only about some (5) of the few series that so far seem like ones I’ll want to check out.
Genshiken 2: This is so exciting, more Genshiken! I mean, this is the series that, more than any other, shows foreigners the real otaku way, right? ^_^ And the new season will have something the first season utterly lacked: Ogiue. That is something to look forward to more than anything else this Fall (except maybe Shana).
Shakugan no Shana II: I really liked Shana the first time around and the episodes kept me interested as I waited for them on DVD. I thought Shana was cute, sexy, awesome and full of win. I especially liked it when her hair turned flaming red. I thought, “That girl is so cool looking and she can use a blade” lol. Of course, she had the usual weak male hanger-on and there was that annoying maid woman, but Shana herself was an excellent example of the tsundere girl warrior. And no obsession with something like Taiyaki or Choco Cornets for this flaming-haired beauty; no, for our Shana it was Melon Pan all the way! ^_^ While I have now tried Taiyaki and Choco Cornet, I have yet to eat Melon Pan. Where do I get the Melon Pan???
Clannad: More cute girls from Key/KyoAni and I am so there! I may have given the impression that Kanon was a difficult experience for me, but I did enjoy the character designs, animation and many aspects of the stories. I just had some issues with its portrayal of its female characters. Of course, those are some big issues, but still… (?_?;) I guess it’ll be more of the same with Clannad, but I’m curious to find out. This one features “delinquents,” so perhaps that will add something different, although Mai in Kanon was certainly seen as a delinquent and Shiori was a truant, right? lol.
Shugo Chara: I read the first volume of the manga of this, and it was fun. It had very cute character designs by Peach-Pit but, as I noted back then, the character designs for the anime certainly seem very different and not nearly as irresistable. I mean, the anime Shana designs are not as good as the original illustrations by Noizi Ito, but they are at least acceptable. But these Shugo Chara anime ones seem total rubbish in comparison. But then, there isn’t much to judge by yet, so I’ll wait and find out.
Myself; Yourself: This one just seems interesting to me for whatever reason. Almost seems a Kanon-like premise, with a guy meeting up with girls he hasn’t seen in a few years. Maybe these girls will be more “adult” than in Kanon? The character designs are not as cute as those for Clannad, though.
So, as with Summer’s Zero no Tsukaima 2 and HiguKai, two series of interest this time around are sequels. And we are still awaiting a future season when the Mother of All Sequels appears and the Haruhiists rejoice! In the meantime, I look forward to finding out which other shows this Autumn turn out to be good, or at least watchable! @_@ What shows do you y’all think will be worth the effort?

Mother of All Sequels.. Lolz XD
but really nice list…
Your first three choices are no-brainers; I’m not so sure about Shugo Chara (doesn’t look like my sort of thing), or Myself, Yourself. Ghost Hound has been getting buzz all year, and might be worthwhile. I’m looking forward to ef - a tale of memories, as well. You can’t go wrong with Naru Nanao characters and music by Tenmon (the Makoto Shinkai music guy)! Then there’s the elephant in the middle of the room, Gundam 00…
