I don’t remember who subtitled the episode of Clannad I watched, but even with my limited knowledge of Japanese I could tell that they left a lot of lines out. Could even the fansubbers be influenced by the backlash against anime in Japan, or perhaps by that strange blog someone linked to in a comment on my previous post? Being the helpful person I am, I thought I would fill in some of the missing lines, all in the interest of free speech and so on.
Tomoyo: “Is that the male body part I’ve heard so much about but never seen? If it is, I think you actually like me.”
Tomoyo: ” Hmmm. This is close, but I don’t think it’s it. I sure hope what I was thinking of is bigger than this!”
Nagisa: “It’s a line from a play I’m going to be in based on School Days. I’m playing Katsura Kotonoha. Do you want to join up too and play Makoto?”
Tomoya: “Listen, about this idea you had of doing School Days…”
Nagisa: “Wait just a minute, I have to finish this add for the play using my favorite illustration….”
Nagisa: “It’s finished!”
Tomoya: “I think you have the skillz to play Sekai in our School Days play! “
“Let’s rehearse that scene from the last episode!”

LOLOLOLOLOL…seriously. The thought of these characters involved in a School Days-like drama and gorefest is just hilarious. Puts things in perspective since I probably took this episode a bit too seriously!
