The similarities I mentioned last time between Takano and Satoko continue here. Takano is saved, and with a telephone call too, just like Satoko. But Takano still turns out bad, so we’ll have to wait and see if this comparison amounts to anything or if it’s just a fanciful notion I’ve concocted to fill up my HiguKai posts, lol.

Perhaps Dr. Takano should have paid more attention to what his young assistant was reading all those years?
In order to further pad this post, I will now attempt to diagnose Takano’s mental state. My first impulse leads me to consider megalomania. Certainly she shows a delusion of omnipotence. I know that there are other reasons for her craziness, but just going by the last two episodes, we see a background that might lead to a mental derangement. Also, if Takano was aware of her activities in the previous arcs, you might think she suffered from what is known as Victory Disease, in which the winning side in a conflict grows arrogant and complacent, misjudging the enemy, who is simultaneously adapting to defeat them.
