I’m a blogger who likes anime who likes seeing his adsense revenue of 10 bucks a month increase ever so much by the next month and then the month after that and so on.

In all seriousness, I still don’t get your main question. Are you implying …

A. Anime blogger who does it to get his opinion out (ala look at me) blogger and looks at his # of comments?

B. Anime blogger writing for the sake of writing about anime, if this writer gets readers, hey icing in the cake.

That’s pretty much the gist of what I got from the question when I started to think about it.

Wholeheartedly I’m a blogger who likes anime. The way I make the distinction is by thinking about the rationale behind starting my site — that being me wanting to start a new blog and deciding anime was the best topic because of my existing interest and its variety. I applied my anime fandom to the desire to blog, rather than having a desire to blog as a result of my anime fandom.

I’ve blogged before doing an anime blog, but I hadn’t been blogging as seriously as I have now. So I consider myself in the “Anime Fan who blogs” boat.

I had a hard time voting because I feel like I’m neither…I only switched to using WordPress because I got tired of writing my own CMS (and I dislike Joomla, among others). But prior to the switch, I was more concerned with the technicalities than the content, so I suppose blogger who likes anime is closer.

Interesting question, one I had never bothered to think about before personally. The difference is mainly do you enjoy blogging that much that you write about anything (with anime being one of your main interests) or do you love anime that much that you want to tell the world about it? Phrasing it that way isn’t really a question of semantics, but an interesting take on things nonetheless.

For me it’s pretty simple. No blogger would go about such insanity in so lame and cowardly of a manner to be a real blogger. I blog because it helps me think and it helps me organize my thoughts, and it forces me to read what other people think. And admittedly enough of bloggers out there say enough interesting stuff for me to come back to it.

Interesting question. I guess the difference is made clear immediately when you instinctively don’t blog because you “don’t feel like it”. Part of why I blog is because I enjoy it, and if I feel like typing out my thoughts is a chore, then I just go do something else (like watch more anime).
