It’s happened again! The DL-ing streams of Shana and Clannad got mixed up into a single file, creating Shannad! And the latest Shannad episode is an action-packed one, to say the least, with two epic battles and a hint of yaoi (if you like that kind off thing) for next week! So without further delay, let me give a brief summary of this wintastic concoction!
In the first scene, Kotomi, who is in reality Master-Of-The-Deadly-Violin-Kotomi,
writes a letter to challenge Shana to a duel after school!
Shana reads the folded letter of challenge! Depressed that Yuuji was nearly crushed to death by a giant dango in an earlier episode, she is ready to open a tsundere can of loli-busting whoop ass on a Clannad character! And to make it fair, she won’t even go into flaming mode to do it either!
Shana goes to face Kotomi, who tries to intimidate her by going into Mahou Shoujo mode (disguised as Kyou)! Shana scoffs at such a weak ploy!
Kotomi unleashes her killer violin! She is unaware that Shana is wearing earplugs!
Shana retaliates with a finishing move that slices through Kotomi, causing her opponents blood to spew out like in a samurai drama!
As blood begins to flow out of Kotomi’s mouth, she begs for mercy!
Shana shows her deredere side by helping her fallen rival,
even listening as Kotomi weeps about her sad past.
Shana returns home to shower, but her difficulties are not over! Master-of-Stars-Fuuko is waiting for her with a KILLER STARFISH! Yes, as I’ve learned recently, starfish are carnivorous and they have two stomachs! And, as tj han has described it, “The worst part is they vomit out digestive juices like spiders and slurp up the resultant slurry.” ZOMG!!! Shana is in danger of having her boobies digested!
Shana, who is much faster than Fuuko, is able to dress herself again and use her sword before her opponent can even react! Shana delivers a killing blow, eliminating the moronic astral projection! (It seems Shana’s sword has the power to draw blood from a projection!)
Meanwhile, Tomoya, unable to make any headway with Nagisa, has taken to doing “strange” things to a giant dango! But this will not satisfy him for long!!! The next episode preview indicates Shana may have a new, non-female, rival for Yuuji’s affections!!!!

*This is merely an educated guess. KyoAni staff may have a bigger commitment than others, but I’m sure money plays a large role, too.
