OK, I’m falling behind on these 12 Days of Christmas posts! I’m inspired to try something a little different this time! Instead of lauding one of my favorite anime moments, I’m going to have an expose on a popular anime experience that should serve as a warning to everyone, instead of being a mere tear-jerking device! OK, so those who are watching Clannad know it’s not set in the winter, like Kanon, so there will probably be no “Sad girls in Snow” memes. This makes me glad, because I know the horrible truth that lies behind this not uncommon scenario! People today may have forgotten about the nineteenth century American humorist Seba Smith. Well, he once wrote a poem, later turned into a folk ballad, about a girl called “Frozen Charlotte.” I’m thinking about girls like Ayu (although she does wear a coat and maybe the cold doesn’t affect her) and especially Makoto, who exposes a lot of skin to the freezing air (does she forget she’s now fur-less?). So when you buy your figure of Makoto, it may be that she doesn’t move because she’s frozen by the cold! And if you should see a sad girl in snow without proper clothing on, get her indoors or she might freeze to death!
OK, this post is incredibly odd and sucks. I guess I’m desperate for ideas, and I have to do six more of these posts. Damn! Maybe I should steal ideas from these guys, who are actually putting some effort into this…
