I will now present Daijoubu’s awards to the best anime blogs in eight important categories. Winners have the incredible honor of being represented in this post by an image of a Golden Dango Statuette, which is sure to become a distinction much coveted and fought for in the coming years! Think, you can even display your dango statuette image on your own sites as a mark of your glory! Even runners up can claim, “I was soooo close to achieving that unparalleled symbol of anime blogging accolades, the shining effulgence of a Golden Dango Statuette Image!” Perhaps next year you too can boast that you have won what is sure to become anime blogging’s highest symbol of greatness! Naturally, Daijoubu should have won in almost all of these categories, but I have generously disqualified myself so that others may partake of this self-declared mark of prestigiousness! So without further delay, here are our winners, second only to Daijoubu in Dangorific splendor!!!!
1. Best Anime Blogging Dictator:
Winner: Owen-Saturnine, Cruel Angel’s Thesisessesses? ??? and the ABCDE
Runner Up: Hinano (she only rules two anime blogs)
There are a number of these group-blog things, where one blogger can lord it over his minions, but only one man has created a way to become the theoretical master of numerous other blogs, at least in joint posting efforts. So if the heads of group-blogs are kings, he could be described as an emperor. And he is the only blogger I know who’s been compared to Hitler. I can only guess at what his future plans for world domination are!
2. Best Use of Images that match the Text of a Post:
Winner: Alafista
Runner Up: In Search of Number Nine
If you don’t believe me on this, just look at these examples: In a recent post relating to lawsuits, there’s an image of a girl with money (implying she won it in court); a story about Japanese men sitting down to pee, and this one about teachers looking up girls’ skirts! There are many more examples of this clever use of images, and the girls are so cute as well….
3. Blog with the Greatest Use of Dangos (and Melonpan), (after Daijoubu, of course!):
Winner: Beta-Waffle
Runner Up: Hinano’s amusing Naruto-Dango Daikazoku crossover
DiGiKerot has made a number of references to dangos, which pleases me no end. I also enjoyed his Melonpan Magical Girl. I am surprised he has not yet joined the Daijoubu Dango Club!
4. Best Dual Blogger Blog (where they actually share space in the same posts and like have a conversation):
Winner: Epic Win
Runner Up: Reverse Thieves (also good, they should update more often, though and feature more dangos!)
I believe Orion may like dangos, so he’d better appreciate this amazing award!!! Jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~
5. Best Anime Blogging Mascot:
Winner: Tripeman
Runner Up: Who could even begin to compare to Tripeman?
Something has fascinated me about this character. Perhaps second only to dangos!
6. Best Anime Blogger Interviews:
Winner: Sea Slugs!
Runner Up: I don’t know of any others doing this…
What does Barbara Walters have in common with Key-based anime? Of course, Barbara is famous for making interviewees cry, has Kabitzin done that? My favorite interview was the fifth one, lol. So anyway, my philosophy of blogging is… oh right, so moving on to our next award….
7. Worst Anime Blog:
Winner: The Yaoi Paddle
Runner Up: Sasuke Love Blog
I see nothing wrong with revisiting an old joke, even a bad one!
8. Best Anime Nano User Pic (Based on Lucky Star):
Winner: Anime Diet
Runners Up: Suguru’s Dame-Dame Anime Blog (Kagamiiiiiiiin!!!!); Anime Banzai (Akira-chaaaaaaaan!); Basugutsubakanabasu (it moves.)
Is Konata eating the right end? Yum Yum. I was thinking of doing more awards, but any more of this and my head will explode, so that’s it. Congratulations to the winners. Of course, if I were to do this again tomorrow I’d probably have 8 totally different choices….
