After much work, some complications and a dose of anxiety, I am happy to announce that Daijoubu has moved to this new domain, Daijoubudesuyo.com!!! So everyone who links here (as though there was anyone who didn’t, hahaha –besides lk that is), please change from daijoubu.animeblogger.net to daijoubudesuyo.com. If anyone experiences any glitches here, please let me know. I think I fixed all the Japanese (and Russian, lol) text that got turned into “????”
I’ve been a little preoccupied with this move, so posting has been limited lately. Also, while others enjoyed two versions of Tower of Druaga, I seem to have been the only one to discover the amazing third version (and yes, it’s the dango version), so I had to check that out many times too! Oh, and that ABC has been plotting stuff again. My Sat-chan just doesn’t stop!
So here I am, as cute and lovable as ever and ready for some Spring posting! I even created a super cool avatar! Aren’t I pretty!! So if any female bloggers want to fall for my bishieness, I could even have you move in and create something like daijoubudesuyo.com/DSgirlfriend/ :) OK, so anyway, let’s start by seeing who gets the first comment on the new domain!!!

I expected a dango avatar…ANyways congrats on the new domain ;P
Thank You. And my next post has a dango in it!
I didn’t know u left ab.net. :( awww. congratz nonetheless!
Thank you Impz! It just means Maestro can fit someone else in my space over there. And this reminds me, I forget to thank Maestro for the hosting over this last year and more. Thank you Maestro and everybody go donate at animeblogger.net!! I still have the links for it on the sidebar!
Congrats on the successful move :D
All you need to do now is to get sat-chan to move into your new space.
Woo, glad to see you settling in on your new space. Blogroll updated!
ROFL DSgirlfriend
Btw are you still going to NYCC? Maybe you should join our Katekyou Hitman Reborn cosplay group 8D
So what process did you have to go through in order to get your database cleaned up?
First, I moved the files to the new site, altered the config.php, and then I backed up the database at the old blog and transferred it to the new one. I could do this, even though I was not able to access the animeblogger database through mysql, because I had earlier upgraded from an old version of wp that had a database backup plugin. But I was able to go in and make appropriate changes in the database after it was moved.
Eventually I found the scripts online that would convert the database in its new home to the new address. There was one that changed the all the posts from animeblogger to daijoubudesuyo, and after some stupidity on my part (where I started to change all the internal links and images manually to the new site!!!), I found the script to do that as well. The only problem was converting it from Latin to UTF-8. I ran the plugin kabitzin had linked to and it worked (even though it warned me it was for an earlier version of wp, I decided to go ahead anyway!) for anything I did from that point on, but not for old posts.
Of course, that’s because the ideal is to do the switch before moving the blog, because after I moved it all the non-Latin script turned into question marks. I had gone and changed the url at daijoubu.animeblogger.net so it was forwarding to daijoubudesuyo, and at the same time I didn’t know how to get into the database at animeblogger, so I was unable to access the old blog for a while. Eventually, Maestro emailed me with the info I needed and I got into the old daijoubu, but I didn’t want to go through moving it all over again and anyway, I had messed it up in other ways and and some things weren’t working and I was afraid to replace a new working blog with a messed up one that I’d have to figure out how to fix.
And anyway, there weren’t that many posts and comments I had in Japanese (and Russian, lol) script, so I decided to switch the old posts and comments manually. Now that I could cut and paste from animeblogger, all I had to do was search the posts and comments on the new blog for “?????????.” LOL In each instance, once I saw that they were not originally intended to be question marks, I found the post at the old blog and pasted in the non-Latin text!
It might sound tiresome, but really don’t have more than a dozen or so posts and comments that used foreign script (which included links to Nico Nico and a Japanese guy who commented once, lol). I think I got them all, so now I think everything is done so that the old site can be removed.
Oh, one other thing. My header was still linking to animeblogger, which confused me a little when I ended up back there, but that’s now been fixed as well! Let me know if anyone finds any other odd things going on!!!
Sorry for the tl;dr, but I decided to be through! As the Japanese say, ???????
um,….. WAITAMINUTE!!!! LOL
