I like watching an anime more than reading the manga of the same show. But when I finish an anime or want to know “spoilers” I’ll start reading the manga. But if I start reading in the middle of watching the same anime then I get confused by the differences and disparate timelines… o.O

It depends on what…for example I’m currently reading Flame of Recca…and I have no intention to ever try to watch the anime. I also am still reading vampire knight and I can’t watch the anime, (same goes with Shugo Chara lol)

On the other hand, I think the Pretear anime was way better than the manga

For the most part, I stick with the Manga because my 20$/month allowance can afford more manga then anime dvds (Plus, I feel unless I really want a series, 4 eps/dvd is insane), and I can keep up with the releases for the most part. Unless, of course, the series hasn’t been licenced in which I sometimes do both. Right now I’m actually ahead of my Shugo Chara mangas, since I’m keeping up for the most part. I started to buy some of the Negima anime DVDs, but I’m really staying with the manga more. Haruhi and Lucky*Star Mangas didn’t come out in the US before their anime release (And there’s still no word on the Haruhi one, if I remember correctly, just the Lucky*Star 4-komas), so it’s not like I could have really understood them (And then there’s the fact friends would want to borrow xD).

I tend to stick to one or the other, generally because it’s not economically possible for me to follow both. There are a few instances where I’ll follow both but it has to be among my top favorite series. In those cases, it’s less for plot/character differences and more for collection.

Yeah, I usually just stick to the anime. That’s because I barely read any manga :P

I did want to get ahead on Bleach however… and now that I think about it, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei might have been better in manga form.

I’m stick to one medium for my stories. I usually prefer the animated version, because I don’t get on with manga (reading it on screen is unpleasant; buying it in hardcopy is also unpleasant, and liable to leave me with no money for food).

I don’t have particular bias on manga or anime (or game) versions of any property. Whatever I like to consume, I consume. A distinction though on genres. Most of the time, I follow ‘both’ anime and manga when it comes to shoujo, where examples of divergence are quite dominant. On shounen, I tend to only read the manga, because shounen anime are long-ass and too slow. On eroge/bishoujo games and the like, I try to play (some of) the game, but it isn’t a necessity.

I do admit though that my manga viewing is at a low, mostly fanscanlations are not as updated as fansubs in the less popular series that I happen to like.

I like reading manga and seeing get adapted into anime form (like Deadman wonderland, I mean, pplz, hurry up!), but then like Vampire Knight, the anime sometimes ruins it because the pictures are worse or everything’s just totally weird. So anime without manga are usually better for me lols
