Instead of doing a Preview of the upcoming anime season, I’ve decided to produce an all purpose guide to anime plots that could serve as an intro to almost any new season of anime. Think of it as an anime plot generator! I’m sure a least a few shows each season will follow one or more of these possible combinations! All you need is a single six-sided die and you can randomly roll for each of the steps below!
The Plot revolves around
1. A Young Shota who wants to prove himself (and become Hokage)
2. A Young Juvenile Delinquent (with a heart of gold)
3. A Young Genki Loli (who loves cute outfits)
4. A Girl with an attitude (tsundere)
5. A Young guy who’s nervous with girls (but wants to meet a “promised” girl from his past)
6. A Weapon-Toting Girl
Who Finds
1. A Giant Robot designed by his/her Father
2. A Girl from the future with large breasts who carries a big weapon
3. A Magical Plush Animal that talks
4. A Former Enemy who becomes Good
5. A harem of Bishies/Lolis
6. A Forgotten Childhood Friend
And Together they must
1. Fight Giant Robots
2. Fight Vampires
3. Fight Soul-Stealing Monsters
4. Fight Zombies
5. Fight Ninjas
6. Fight Aliens
And at a key dramatic moment, the main guy and girl characters
1. Are about to kiss but are interrupted by a jealous younger sister
2. Trip and Fall on Top of each other
3. Realized they knew each other in the past
4. Are confused because they are too stupid to realize they like each other
5. Eat a meal prepared by one of them which is incredibly delicious
6. Eat a meal prepared by one of them which is terrible (noxious and inedible)
And the Series Ends with
1. The Complete Apocalyptic Destruction of Everything
2. The Defeat of the Season’s Boss Villain
3. The Two Kissing and declaring their love, only to ignore that they did it later
4. Their Main Opponent becoming Reformed and Joining their Group of Friends
5. Nothing Particularly Dramatic Happening AT ALL
6. A Reset

The Plot revolves around A Girl with an attitude Who Finds A Forgotten Childhood Friend And Together they must Fight Giant Robots, And at a key dramatic moment, Are confused because they are too stupid to realize they like each other And the Series Ends with A Reset.
Nice, looks like I finally got a plot for my otome game project…!
“The Plot revolves around A Young Juvenile Delinquent (with a heart of gold) Who Finds A Former Enemy who becomes Good And Together they must Fight Zombies And at a key dramatic moment, the main guy and girl characters Eat a meal prepared by one of them which is incredibly delicious And the Series Ends with The Complete Apocalyptic Destruction of Everything.”
The arbitrary capitalization here bugs me, but other than that, it’s almost like Dawn of the Dead.
I used playing cards and dealt until I got A-6, is that okay?
The Plot revolves around [A Young Shota who wants to prove himself (and become Hokage)] who finds [A harem of Bishies/Lolis] and together they must [Fight Vampires] and at a key dramatic moment the two [Realize they knew each other in the past] and it ends with [A Reset].
Plot skeletons are fun because they remind you that every plot ever can seem hackneyed and cliched if you boil it down enough.
The Plot revolves around A Young Shota who wants to prove himself (and become Hokage). Who Finds A Former Enemy who becomes Good. And Together they must Fight ninjas. And at a key dramatic moment, the main guy and girl characters Are confused because they are too stupid to realize they like each other. And the Series Ends with Their Main Opponent becoming Reformed and Joining their Group of Friends.
There I just described the obvious plot of Narooto.

Sounds about right.
jpmeyer: If that ends up as a harem of lolis, that is incredibly epic.
