Once upon a time, there was a blog called Ex-Fansubber Hitorigoto and another one called Minaide Hazukashii. Later they merged and became Minaide! Hitorigoto (and the authors will be “merging” themselves in two weeks!). After waiting some months to see if any other such mergers occurred, I am forced to conclude that this was a isolated incident. But with the massive explosion of new anime blogs these days, I thought that it might be economical for more older blogs to merge to make things less confusing. In the case of MiGoto, an interesting combo of fangirl rage and intellectual stylings was born. Here are some of my suggestions of other new “merged” blogs that could be created:
Star-Crossed Random Subculture Seiha Memento: A unique combination which will episodically blog every second of every anime, week-in and week-out without fail and if any post is missing screencaps, or appears a day late, all the the members of this merger have pledged to commit joint seppuku. Then everyone will have to watch the anime to find out what happens in it! (*shudder*)
Cruel Bateszi Theses: This ultimate champion of editorial slow blogging, Owen and Bateszi react strongly to the previous merging. A powerful new force of intellectuality is born with carefully written & well-thought-out insights to shake the world (i.e. blogosphere); however, the cruel reality of posting tl;dr entries only once every few months condemns this combo to sink into obscurity.
Minaide! Animealmanac-Hitorigoto wa Hazukashii!! More than simply being embarrassing, this meeting of diametric opposites would, like the meeting of mater and anti-mater, rend the universe asunder with the heat of ten billion suns!!
