In episode 10 of The Sacred Blacksmith, a painting seen in the background looks a lot like Thomas Cole‘s painting called View from Mount Holyoke, Northampton, Massachusetts, after a Thunderstorm and more commonly known as the Oxbow. It depicts a distinctive feature on the Connecticut River and is one of the most famous works of the so-called Hudson River School of American landscape painting. Maybe it’s not Cole’s well-known painting (because part of it is cut off), but maybe it’s one by another artist of the same landscape feature? Or is there an Oxbow in the world of the Sacred Blacksmith? What do you think?
